To sum up what I do in a way any advisor/recruiter would tell you not to:

M&A Due Diligence
Multi-Store Budget Modeling
Operational Data Analytics & Advisory
Automation in Financial Reporting & Metrics Tracking
Payroll Systems Management, Conversion & Reporting
Special Projects & Internal Media Production

America's Auto Auction offers the full spectrum of Dealer Services necessary to successfully complete the remarketing needs for both Buyers and Sellers in our Auction Process. Complemented by a fantastic team at the home office in Dallas, and really great folks out in the field at our continually growing number of two dozen-odd locations.

Past Work

Montgomery Capital Advisers - Plano, TX
Investment Associate (2017-2018)
Experienced Financial Analyst (2016)
Financial Analyst (2015)

Montgomery Capital Advisers (MCA) is a diversified investment management and business advisory firm that manages a portfolio of small-cap debt and equity investments.

Working primarily with small private businesses, originating loans from $650,000-$5MM, I worked with this highly collaborative and intelligent group of finance-focused CPAs for many years, in a very independent but highly accountable position. I will count the leaders of this team as my close friends and mentors until the end of time.

  • Distressed Managerial Consulting (and all that follows)
  • Recapitalization, Restructuring & Asset Liquidation
  • Funds/Portfolio Management & Financial Reporting

Fantasy eSports.com
Partner (2012-2015)

Startup I helped create. I assisted with business plan creation, designed site graphics and advertising pieces, and assisted with SQL and relational database design, learning just enough concepts in computer programming to be dangerous.

BBA Scholar, Cox School of Business
Southern Methodist University

Business Management Major,
Entrepreneurship Concentration
(2010-2014)

Cotten's Cooling Company
Creator, Operator (2007-2012)

I created Cotten's Cooling Company during high school. In junior high, coaches and kids alike gave me the nickname "Cotten," so the name came about naturally (with a little help from a good friend).

My employees and I installed radiant barrier and attic insulation in multiple teams of four in residential homes, often in the Texas heat (>120° F!). I designed a custom insulation and radiant barrier installation system, managed my teams directly, designed advertising and marketing materials, created an employee code of conduct and operations handbook, and sold our installation services to homeowners.

Charitable Work

Jackson Hill Foundation

I am on the board of the Jackson Hill Foundation, which honors the legacy of Jackson Hill, by supporting efforts to ease the suffering of families who have a child in the hospital. Please follow the link above to learn more about the Foundation!

Photography (First for money, award-winning, and now for fun)

Dallas Photos
The most award-winners are located here.

Non-Abstract Photos
Not all Landscapes, but definitely not abstracts.

Panoramas
Just like normal pictures but wider.

People Pictures
The type of stuff that got me into Forbes and Bloomberg Businessweek.

Video Projects (Also at first for money and now for fun)

America's Auto Auction Promo Video

I directed, shot, and edited from start to finish this promo video for America's Auto Auction while working as a senior financial analyst. If this doesn't show I can wear a lot of hats, keep scrolling.

America's Auto Auction Lobby Looping Video

While working as a senior financial analyst, I was asked to take on the special project of visiting a large number of our locations to film, edit, and create a rolling video that could be placed on display on a loop in the lobby of our corporate office, to display the breadth of operations the company undertakes on a daily basis.

People still ask if the video is a live feed of the different locations.

Contemporary Chorale Virtual Choir

Long before it was cool because of COVID-19 (but after it was cool because of Eric Whitacre), I animated this Virtual Choir video for the Contemporary Chorale in Dallas, TX (directed by Melanie Moore).

Jared Schwartz Faure Album, Promo Videos

Forgive my video's font choice, this is a pretty old one. Close friend of mine paid me to produce these promotional videos for an album he released which turned out really great.

Leaving Texas

After leaving the only state bigger than all the other states combined, I made a tribute using video I had shot over the years, in the style of the Friday Night Lights intro minus the credits for people who made it happen. Click on the right to see.

Aerials

I shot and edited some video together of the Swiss Alps and Norway's fjords. Ended up with 3 hours in total of relaxing, rolling landscape video (the Apple TV has a similar thing, but they use real helicopters, which, if Tim Apple is reading this, I could totally do for you if you wanted). Will do more like this eventually. Here's a quick compilation.

Ocean Aerials

Visited Florida, made some slowmo views of the ocean water. (the Apple TV has a similar thing, but they use real helicopters, which, if Tim Apple is reading this, I could totally do for you if you wanted).

Close Call at the Ghost Mall

Any sane person would probably tell me not to share this on a page that acts as a resume. But what's life for, if you can't spend 48 hours straight laughing your head off with really close friends and then share it? I "directed," "shot," and "edited" (all of which should definitely be in quotes) this 7 minute comedy short film in the Dallas 48 Hour Film Festival - we won a couple of awards for it, but most importantly, had a really really fun time making it inside and around the now demolished Valley View Mall in Dallas.

Private Pilot (almost)

I'm (planning) to (eventually) keep a (mostly) public log of my (carefully) planned PPL adventures.

And More

Flying (again), Sailing, Woodworking, Piano, the cool-not-creepy kind of Ukelele, Guitar, Singing, Computer Tinkering, Homelab development, Running, Hiking alone, but also
Long Walks in Parks with Wife and Dog, etc
